Good Morning...

...from the intern desk.  Just wanted to pop in & say hi.  Hopefully I can get a fun, creative post up today or tomorrow.  Have a great week!

(psst ---> Check out Kim's post about this bonnet she made for her daughter; it's too stinking cute!)

Vintage Finds

....sort of...  Over a weekend in December I was cleaning out my old bedroom & I found purses I had crocheted in high school to sell.  The buyers didn't claim their orders (over 5 years ago...) so now they will be up for grabs in the shop soon!  I have a handful to sort through so it may take a few days for me to get them all listed.  Let me know what you think about them (or anything in the shop for that matter) :)
A few samples:

The "label" I made, Name sewn on by machine; actual label sewn on by hand.

Four examples.

Some have back pockets (which were used for planners in high school).

A Few Fun, Cellphone Photos

This is a towel I made for my cousin's 8th birthday last month. Here it is hanging in her bathroom (with a pink, green & yellow theme).  Dan & I visited her & her family this past weekend. Her mom is helping us design our wedding invitations.

This is one of the inspiration pieces we liked from the book of samples.

Have a wonderful Thursday :)

I'm Still Around

I promise!  I've been doing a lot of wedding planning & accomplishing these past few weeks so that is one of the reasons I haven't been posting regularly lately.  The other reason is I haven't been taking & uploading my pictures to be used in posts.  I have a few written and waiting to be published but their illustrating pictures are absent and need taking. ... Which is on my list to do, like, last week :-S

I'm nearly finished with one of the two black & white dishtowel sets and will hopefully be finishing the second set sometime next week if not this weekend.

I've also joined a bookclub so splitting my (little) downtime between reading my 'assigned reading' & my addictive knitting habit is hard.  I wish I had an extra arm/hand to hold the book and turn pages for me so I could read AND knit.  haha.  Anyone else have this problem?

I hope to get those pictures taken tonight or sometime tomorrow (I *should* have some time to myself tomorrow to get caught up, if it doesn't get encroached on by outside forces).

Happy Hump Day!

My Weekend In Pictures

It's always nice to start the day with a mug of coffee & a little blogpost. I love the way it looks on mobile devices, hehe. I don't know why; maybe because I secretly dream of getting one someday?

I started working on the black & white towel to go with the first black & white dishcloth set.

This is how I want to live & raise my kids.

Isn't he cute? I met him this weekend while staying with a friend of Dan's. His name is T-Rex, hehe. Yes, this is a child-sized foam couch. :)

*This post was all done using my phone's camera, mobile blogspot, and edited using the iTouch. How did I do?

New Spring Items

Well, I've been doing a lot of spring cleaning around the apartment lately & that tall pile of "to be photographed" was finally on the list to do this week.  So far I have 5(?) sets of dishcloths photographed & ready to be listed.  Here's a sample:

Getting ready for July...

Spring Green & Cool Sunshine

Next: I'll be re-organizing my work space & storage of my items.

I love the optimism that new life & spring bring :)

Another Finished Cowl

Except this time this one is for the shop:  The Teal Cowl.

You can wear it wrapped twice around for a warm, close fit...

Or long and casual...

On to the next project: Sara's cowl.  Which will look like a replica of Ashley's.  But only nearly because they are both handmade & I never write my patterns down ;)

That was fast!

Ashley's cowl that is.
Now that it's all ready to go to its new home, I've picked up a second skein of teal yarn to finish another back-burner project:  A teal cowl doubled over so it is twice as thick & tied-in-a-knot to really keep one's neck warm.

I started this one a while back to be one of the 3 cowls I promised myself I'd have made before the winter's over. ... Looks like it's only going to be one or two for the shop by the time winter ends here.  Happily, Mother Nature likes to keep toying with us and sending us rain & 40 degree weather but then she turns around and slap us with 30 degree days & snow storms.  oy.  I'm so ready for spring & warmer weather.
