...how to learn & (mostly) understand how a production system works, then turn around & build your own efficiency into the system as you use it. I also thought, as my finishing touch, I would type up the best parts of what I learned and save them in a few computer documents for the next intern to help shorten their learning curve. And then they could always add to it as they felt necessary.

... and that even after only 4 months, you can be valued enough to have a send-off gift. (I still don't think it was necessary; but it sure was sweet & unexpected)
