Remaining Christmas Gifts

A few last Christmas gifts to share:

I gave my sister my first Granny Afghan.  She kept eyeing it while I stayed with her after her wisdom teeth surgery so I knew it would be a good fit.

And she gave me this beautiful card holder which she engraved herself!  (She engraves at her job, but I think she is really good at it, looking at her handiwork)

Now I have to figure out what to give her for her birthday Saturday.  Any suggestions?

Newest Cowl

I'm so excited about this new cowl.  Not only is it my favorite style to wear, but I was also able to get my beautiful cousin to model it for me while we visited her family for Christmas!  :)

I have to admit I'm not normally much of a color-red fan, but this variegated skein was calling out to me in the store and I couldn't wait to get it on my needles.

Long enough to wrap around twice for extra neck coverage.

I was hoping to have enough to make two double-wrap cowls but I guess I didn't realize how much I truly needed.  So this time I have one long (above) and one shorter (below).

How do you think they turned out?

Season Premiere

Who else joined me in watching the much-anticipated premiere of season 3 of Downton Abbey last night??  I think I started getting anxious around 4:30pm.

Plotting together.

I think the Dowager Countess is becoming my favorite character this season, after loving Mary's character so much in the previous year (and Sybil tying with Mary as Branson's relationship increased).

What was your favorite part of the premiere episode?

It's One of Those Days

The ones that are too-few coming in 2012 but have hit me like an Energizer-Bunny tonight :]

The beautiful productivity of constant-motivation (still going strong for over 4 hours!!).  Almost seems like one of those new 5-hour-energy commercials.  Anyway, check out all the progress!

I have photographed & drafted 6+ listings today; including a new cowl with my cousin modeling!

I will be staggering the dishcloth listings over the weekend, but you can enjoy the new cowls tonight!

My Autumn earwarmer was featured in a treasury today!

See it?  Bottom-right corner.

Did I blow up your Newsfeed today?  I apologize; some sort of creative bug grabbed hold of me this afternoon and I couldn't help feeling the need to share those stories with my followers.  Did you find any inspiration?  Or should I stop sharing others' posts/pictures and keep it to just Etsy shop-related stories?

I have more to share but I guess I ought to save some for another post and that energy is finally starting to slow (after 6+ hours!).  Anyone else excited for the new year?

Happy New Year!

May 2013 be filled with everything you love & treasure. :)  For me, that's lots of knitting & quality time with family & friends (especially my lovely Husband).  :)

Christmas Mittens

I have dubbed this year's Christmas as "Mitten Christmas" because the majority of the knitted gifts this year have been mittens.

Shayne's mittens

Shane (my youngest model)'s mittens

Nolettes mittens (x2) - pictures to come

& out-grown mittens (now hung with love on recipient's family tree).

I'm nearly mitten-ed out!  I guess it's time I started working on next year's "theme."

Did anyone else notice a "theme" in their gift-giving this year?

Baby Fever?

Not quite.  More like baby clothes and crafting fever.

Patterns at the top of my queue (aka, after all my Christmas-crafting is complete): basic baby socksbaby sweater (or this one) & maybe these for something fun to try.

Plus a Treasury to collect "Cute Boy" ideas:

So if you know anyone pregnant or who has a new addition in their family, send them my way. :)

P.S. dishcloths make great washcloths & hand towels (coming soon) as burp cloths!

Christmas Crafting: Knit Gifts

This year I loved the opportunity to knit a bunch of gifts for the some close family friends. Here are just a few of the knitted gifts they received:

Mittens

He modeled his pair and I made a few pairs for the shop.

Hand Towels

This was a host gift to a very close friend of my husband's. I made this the weekend we stayed with them.

Washcloths

One of many custom orders for co-worker gifts. I always love seeing the colors come together!

Hand Knit Socks

This beautiful variegated blue sock is one of six pairs in progress. These will be a post-Christmas gift.

More Mittens

The latest gift, fresh off my needles are these adorable little mittens for my cousin's daughter.  I made them start to finish on Christmas Eve.

More to come as we celebrate with other family members.  :)

Merry Christmas!

I promise I'll be back soon with pictures of all those knitted gifts I've been hinting at.  I hope everyone had a very fun & heart-warming holiday with new memories to reflect on.  :)
