Templating the Application Process

In order to apply for the number of shows that I want to do this year, I've collected my favorite responses into a Text document.  Then I can copy + paste + tweak each of my responses either within my Template document or directly in my Application's response.

I've created a blank document with the basic questions I come across regularly for you to download and start brainstorming your best answers.  And don't be afraid to keep multiple responses to each question.  Depending on your audience, it might be best to answer one question with one slant and another show's application question with another slanted answer (In my case its moms + babies v. young hipsters or professionals).  Same goes for the time of year.  Submit holiday-inspired photos for your Holiday + Winter shows compared to spring/summer pastels and brightly colored offerings.

Don't forget to keep a folder of all your best images of your work.  Many applications ask for 5 photos, usually around 1MB or less, to be submitted with your application.  Instead of searching your computer and spending hours editing each one to be just perfect, keep a folder of all these images for quick uploading.

What Craft Shows are you applying for this year?  What hacks have you developed to make the application process smoother and more efficient?  I'd love to hear all about it in the comments below! Please let me know in the comments below and Pin the image above to bookmark this post if you found this helpful. I look forward to seeing you on the next post!
