Hello!

Just popping in quick to say hello!  This is what I look like most days now:

She is 3 weeks (+5 days) old & loves sleeping on my chest!

So you can see how I don't get as much done as I'm used to.  When these precious moments are had, they are savored and spent catching up on my magazine, book and blog reading.  I've only just started attempting blog writing like this and so far it seems to be working like a charm!  Until she wakes up suddenly ravishing!  :)

Bear with me; I have plenty of more meaty posts in the works but I have a feeling it is going to take much longer to get them fully composed and ready to publish.  I hope you are all doing well.  Keep up the lovely posts and I promise to stop in again soon :)

Merchants Landing Arts & Craft Show

I'm so excited that I have another show on the calendar!

These ladies participated with me at the Make It Indie fair back in November and reached out to me to join them in their first annual show this April.  I have to say I was definitely honored that they reached out to me and were patient as I searched my mind for an answer.  Of course I wanted to scream yes right away, but knowing that the show weekend (April 12 & 13) is the weekend after my due date, I had to consider newborn care first.  After talking with my midwife, husband (who was supportively pushing me in this direction), and a few other friends with kids, I decided to go with the "ambitious" decision to commit.  And now I'm so excited & ecstatic that I did!

So if everyone will just send positive, slightly early-labor thoughts my way, I'd really appreciate it! hehe.  :)

A Few New Changes

A couple weekends ago, my wonderful husband organized 8 of our friends to come over and paint the second bedroom so we can start to convert it into a nursery.

(please excuse the mess; this was only a couple days after painting)

As a bonus (and because we were ready for a change in the living room), they also painted the living room a cheery yellow.  :)  I love how it looks when the sunlight pours in with its bluer light.  The table lamps are a little warmer in color so I've been on the look out for bluer LED bulbs to swap them out.

So far I have a handful of hand-knitted baby items made up (mittens, socks, hats, one blanket and one sweater) but I feel like a slacker that I don't have more sweaters and more longies made up.

A few of the smaller items I have collected for Baby.

These bibs + washcloths are from BeastiesBabies

Lots of knitted socks + mittens

I also keep thinking I need to make a few outfit pieces (sweater dresses/jumpers and sweater vests).

What item(s) would you most recommend I make a priority to knit before baby is here?  Is there something that you are so happy you made and use all the time or highly recommend now that you have a little wisdom under your belt?  Please let me know!

I'm Still Around

I promise!  I've been doing a lot of wedding planning & accomplishing these past few weeks so that is one of the reasons I haven't been posting regularly lately.  The other reason is I haven't been taking & uploading my pictures to be used in posts.  I have a few written and waiting to be published but their illustrating pictures are absent and need taking. ... Which is on my list to do, like, last week :-S

I'm nearly finished with one of the two black & white dishtowel sets and will hopefully be finishing the second set sometime next week if not this weekend.

I've also joined a bookclub so splitting my (little) downtime between reading my 'assigned reading' & my addictive knitting habit is hard.  I wish I had an extra arm/hand to hold the book and turn pages for me so I could read AND knit.  haha.  Anyone else have this problem?

I hope to get those pictures taken tonight or sometime tomorrow (I *should* have some time to myself tomorrow to get caught up, if it doesn't get encroached on by outside forces).

Happy Hump Day!
